PHOTOGRAPHIC TOURS

A camera, a tripod,
and a walk through the house.

Our Blender tour renders the model from inside each room. A photographic 360° tour uses real images captured at the property. Both can use the same room selector and floor plan.

First, ask the photographer

If a property already has a virtual tour, ask its photographer or tour provider for full-resolution stitched panoramas, permission to host them in Rory, and a floor plan marked with the capture locations. A public tour link alone is not an image export.

Capture your own

  1. Arrange access to the house and use a 360° camera with a slim tripod. Start at roughly eye level (about 1.5–1.6 m) and keep the height consistent.
  2. Take a still panorama at each useful viewpoint. Start with one per small room, additional positions in large rooms, and connecting positions through halls and doorways.
  3. Keep the camera level and away from nearby furniture. Keep doors and lighting consistent between shots. Use a timer or remote trigger and step out of view. Review windows, mirrors and stitching before leaving.
  4. Mark each position on the floor plan and record the room, floor, filename and facing direction. Do not infer accurate room measurements from the photographs alone.
  5. Export full spherical, stitched equirectangular JPGs in a 2:1 ratio, such as 6000 × 3000. Keep the full-resolution originals. A phone's ordinary panorama mode is usually only a partial sweep.
  6. Select the corresponding room in Rory, open “Create a photographic tour”, and preview its 360° image. The preview stays in the current browser tab and clears on reload.

A drone is optional for a separate exterior or neighbourhood view. Indoor room panoramas use the tripod workflow.

Save a tour in the project

The current prototype contains four main-floor rooms at Old Stone. To persist a captured image, add it under public/tours/stone/ and give its matching stop in tour.json a capture path:

The viewer automatically uses that file in Captured 360°. Keep captured photographs separate from the render images. Extend the manifest and floor mapping for additional viewpoints or properties; this first prototype does not yet include a publishing dashboard.
