The custom studio starts with a private reference and a quote. Each character is made in Blender, with a rotatable preview and included refinements. Standard avatar uploads still save a 2D portrait.

A few things,
before you jump in.
Do I need to contribute to use a personal avatar?
No. Choose a ready-made Rory or upload your own image in My search, then save your avatar. Optional support does not unlock avatar access.
Can I turn my own photo into a 3D model today?
You can send a private reference to the custom 3D studio. A person reviews the brief and prepares a quote; the model is made in Blender and delivered for your review. This is a studio-assisted service. Standard uploads remain 2D portraits.
Will a contribution pay for my custom 3D avatar?
No. Contributions support Rory’s development. Custom models have their own quote, order, and review process in the private studio. A contribution does not place a custom-model order.
Does changing the avatar change who I’m talking to?
You’re still talking with Rory, an AI home-search assistant. Choosing a family photo or another image changes the appearance of your companion; it does not make Rory that person.
Can I turn the motion off or use a transparent background?
Yes. Open the appearance settings on your floating Rory. Little animations controls movement, Soft backdrop controls the panel, and your device’s reduced-motion setting is respected.
